The practice
TRC is a full-time resignation and career-exit consultancy. Individual pieces or one managed engagement — from the first doubt to the relieving letter in your inbox.
Scope of work
A structured, unemotional review of your situation before you act — including the case for staying.
Sequencing, timing, dependencies and a written plan for the whole exit, not just the letter.
Drafted to your situation, tone and company culture — accurate, courteous and impossible to misread.
How to structure a long notice period so it protects your reputation and your next move.
Scripts and strategy to shorten notice without burning the relationship or your paperwork.
What buyout actually costs, who should pay it, and how to model it before you commit.
What to say, in what order, to whom, and what to never put in writing.
A cold read of the counteroffer in front of you — and what it usually means six months later.
Leaving a strong, honest, defensible impression, even in a workplace that has treated you badly.
Getting the documents you are entitled to, on time, in the right form.
Toxic managers, bonds, retaliation, unpaid dues and situations that need careful handling.
CXO, VP and country-head level departures where reputation, notice and optics all carry weight.
Our expertise, in detail
A resignation letter is a permanent record. It is read by people you will need later, and it is frequently the only document from your exit that survives. We draft to your situation, tone and company culture — accurate on dates and notice, courteous in register, and free of the sentences people regret.
When you resign changes what you are owed, what you can negotiate and how the news lands. We work through appraisal cycles, bonus and incentive dates, project milestones, vesting, notice arithmetic and the sequence of conversations, then commit it to a written plan.
Notice is negotiable more often than people believe, and buyouts are frequently mis-quoted. We prepare the position, the script and the fallback, so you ask for early release from a reasoned case rather than a plea — and, where relevant, in coordination with an independent employment-law practitioner.
The exit interview is not a therapy session and it is not a farewell. It is a recorded conversation with an organisation that may be asked about you for the rest of your career. We rehearse what you will say, what you will decline to say, and how to be honest without being unsafe.
The exit is the middle of the story. We build the post-resignation plan — new role, freelance practice, career change or a deliberate break — with the financial runway written down rather than assumed.
We explain the machinery in plain language: how notice-period clauses in your contract normally operate, how the full and final settlement process runs, what usually happens with relieving letters and experience certificates, how to resign on record in an unsafe environment, and the routes people take on unpaid salary. This is process and information guidance, not legal advice — and where your case needs a legal opinion or representation, we say so and refer you to an independent employment-law practitioner.
Alongside the exit
Resignation is rarely the only thing that needs attention. These sit alongside the core practice and can be added to any engagement.
Support for the emotional weight an exit carries, and for what sits underneath it.
Direction after the exit — including the possibility that employment is not the answer.
The presence and communication that make the next role easier to hold.
Navigating grey areas without becoming a casualty of them.
A document that reflects the career you actually had.
For the conversations that follow the resignation.
A plan, not a scattergun application habit.
New role, freelance, business or a deliberate pause — mapped before you resign.
On legal matters. TRC™ is a professional consultancy and not a law firm. What we provide is resignation consulting, strategy, communication guidance, process support, documentation support, negotiation preparation and exit planning. What we do not provide is legal advice, legal opinions or legal representation. Where your situation needs any of those, we say so plainly, and the work is carried out by independent employment-law practitioners engaged for your case — never presented as TRC’s own legal opinion.
Five fixed-scope Core Modules, from a single letter to a fully delegated executive exit.
